FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire in Federal Way.

The fire in the 3700 block of Southwest 332nd Place near 36th Avenue Southwest was called out at about 4:30 a.m. Monday.

When firefighters arrived, the flames were too fierce for them to enter the home and the fire had to be battled from the outside.

A 90-year-old man, who lives alone in the home, was inside when the fire started. He got out OK.

The interior of the home was gutted by the fire.

Neighbors say there was a shed behind house that may have contained a 55-gallon drum of racing fuel.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
