Fire rips through apartment building, displaces 14 in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A fire that ripped through an apartment building Wednesday afternoon in Federal Way resulted in 14 people being displaced.

Firefighters were called at about 4 p.m. to the 100 block of South 339th Circle for reports of smoke on a patio.

When crews arrived, officials said the fire had spread to the attic and that flames were seen above four units.

No injuries were reported as six adults and eight children were displaced, firefighters said. The American Red Cross is there to help them.

Officials said the building is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
