MASON COUNTY, Wash. — The first death related to the coronavirus was confirmed in Mason County on Saturday evening, county health officials said.
Officials said the person who died was a man in his 70s and he was hospitalized outside the county.
Out of respect for the man’s family, officials said no further details would be released.
Officials said there had been no new confirmed cases in the last week, but as of April 24, 19 of the 22 cases are no longer symptomatic. Those people have returned to work or their regular routine.
Three cases were high risk for severe illness due to their age (60 years old and up) or underlying health issues, officials said. Those people required hospitalization.
