SEATTLE — “Holy Catfish!” It’s a saying that has filled the KIRO 7 newsroom and studios on many occasions.
The man behind the saying — former KIRO 7 anchor Steve Raible.
Raible took the mound at T-Mobile Park on Sunday, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers game.
The Mariners tapped Raible in honor of his retirement from KIRO 7 last summer.
Raible was seen painting the outside corner of the box for a strike!
And before the first pitch, KIRO 7 asked Raible what people could expect.
“Listen. When you watch this ball, I’m going to throw a splitter, down and away. It’s liable to bounce in front of home plate, which is exactly what you want it to do,” Raible said.
Raible was seen rocking a goatee and longer hair, however, not losing the tongue-in-cheek humor that many miss so much.
