SEATTLE — The recently announced Garth Brooks stadium tour is already in jeopardy as the tour is set to take a three-week pause after the August 14 show in Lincoln, Nebraska, and assess the remainder of the shows on the tour due to the current resurgence of COVID-19.
Seattle is the first show after that three weeks, scheduled to play Lumen Field on Sept. 4.
“It breaks my heart to see city after city go on sale and then have to ask those sweet people and the venues to reschedule,” said Brooks. “We have a three week window coming up where we, as a group, will assess the remainder of the stadium tour this year. It’s humbling to see people put this much faith in you as an artist, and it kills me to think I am letting them down.”
It will be Brooks’ first time playing at the home of the Seahawks.
He has not had a show in the Seattle-Tacoma area in four years.
His appearance in Seattle will be the only one in the Pacific Northwest this year.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks, through the Ticketmaster app, or by calling 1-877-654-2784. They are $94.95 each.
Brooks was one of five artists to receive the Kennedy Center Honor in May and is the first-ever seven-time recipient of the CMA Entertainer of the Year award.
In November, after receiving the Billboard Music Icon Award, Brooks released two new albums; his 12th studio album, “FUN” and live album “Triple Live Deluxe.”
He remains the #1 selling solo artist in U.S. history, with 157 million album sales.
