Gas prices on the rise in Washington

The war in Ukraine is having a direct impact on western Washington, especially after President Biden cut all Russian energy imports.

The move has gas hitting record highs in the state.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Washington is now $4.54, and in the Seattle and Bellevue areas, it’s about $4.72.

AAA says these are all-time highs.

As we approach spring break and travel season around the corner, AAA says it’s hard to say with both the war and inflation where prices may go next.

One thing travel experts feel confident about is that prices will continue upward.

“The pace at which the price is going up, we’ve never seen, even after 9/11,” said Kelly Just of AAA Washington.

AAA suggests filling up now before it gets worse.
