Two men have been arrested in connection with a 2023 drive-by shooting in Gig Harbor, according to the Gig Harbor Police Department.
The incident is believed to be related to a 2021 homicide in Kitsap County and targeted family members of the suspect in that case.
On December 27, 2024, authorities apprehended 19-year-old Rocco Fanara and 20-year-old Demondrae Jones, both from Port Orchard. They were booked into the Pierce County Jail.
Each man faces two counts of first-degree assault with a firearm enhancement and one count of drive-by shooting.
The shooting occurred on June 6, 2023, near the intersection of 38th Avenue and Hunt Street.
Gig Harbor Police responded to multiple reports of gunfire, and a 17-year-old girl contacted 911 soon after the incident to report she and her 23-year-old brother had been chased and shot at by people in two vehicles.
No injuries were reported, but their vehicle was struck multiple times.
Following the shooting, officers searched for the vehicles but were unable to locate them.
Interviews with the victims and other witnesses indicated the shooting was not random but rather a planned attack related to the Kitsap County homicide.
Police say that more arrests may be made in connection with this incident.
