SEATTLE — Washington’s largest online fundraising campaign, GiveBIG, returns on May 4-5, to raise funds for nonprofit organizations across Washington state.
Not only providing important programs and services to people and communities across the state, GiveBIG also promotes the importance of local philanthropy and giving back to our communities.
The 48-hour campaign looks to break its 2020 totals, when it raised $19.2 million for 1,682 nonprofits in Washington, thanks to 40,991 unique donors.
GiveBIG has set an aggressive goal of $20 million, for which it has plans to expand the campaign by adding more participating organizations on the east side of the state and partnering with media in Spokane to help raise the word in eastern Washington.
Partnering with GiveBIG to help build excitement around the event this year are former Seattle Seahawks DB Jordan Babineaux and two-time WNBA champion Jordin Canada of the Seattle Storm.
“The GiveBIG campaign is such a gift for everyone,” said Scott Chin, president of Seattle Union Gospel Mission. “The Washington Gives platform provides a convenient way for people to spread generosity and make an impact during a time when we need it most.”
GiveBIG provides a safe online portal for donors to support nonprofits of their choice, while exploring new causes around their area.
Individuals can also donate their time, by pledging volunteer hours and creating FUNdraising pages to share with their friends, family, co-workers and more.
