Got at ticket? There's an app for that

Got a traffic ticket? Now there’s an app for that.  It is courtesy of two entrepreneurs and a trip to Oregon.
Brothers Alex and Chris Guirguis said everyone in their group got speeding tickets during the trip about two years ago.
“We were not being reckless on the road,” Alex explained. “They were for five over, six over.”
“We could have hired a lawyer, but we didn’t know any lawyers in Oregon,” Chris added.
They looked for a pre-existing service or app to help them, but none existed.  “Off the Record,” as in keeping tickets off the insurance record, was born of that experience.
It’s available in the app store and downloadable through the site: https://offtherecord.com/.
The app, or mobile site if you are on an android device, steps you through taking a picture of the ticket and a few questions.  Then the app finds a lawyer with a proven high rate of success fighting your particular traffic violation in the particular jurisdiction in question.  If you agree to a flat fee normally between $200-300, the ticket fighting begins.
“We think it’s a really competitive price,” Alex said, referencing the cost of other traffic lawyers in greater-Seattle.  However he said the main concern of customers is “why would I pay $250 to fight a fine that is only say $137?”  He answers:  “Yes the fine is cheaper than the cost to fight, but on average you would be paying $600-700 extra after your first ticket.”
The brothers said they have helped hundreds of customers avoid that insurance headache 97 percent of the time.  Here are the numbers:
  • 81 percent of the time the attorney the app finds gets the ticket dismissed outright.
The app is only currently setup for misdemeanor moving traffic tickets.  This means no parking tickets, and nothing criminal, such as driving under the influence.  So far it is setup for all of Washington State, New York City and soon in Arizona, as of Monday. All are locations "Off the Record" has so far been able to create its network of reputable traffic lawyers.
