KING COUNTY, Wash. — Gov. Jay Inslee announced the appointment of Marshall Ferguson to the King County Superior Court today, effective immediately. Ferguson will replace Judge Helen Halpert who retired at the end of June.
Ferguson worked at the Seattle law firm Williams Kastner for the past 11 years, becoming a partner back in 2012. He currently works as the firm’s chief ethics counsel and the chair of the Ethics and Loss Prevention Committee. At the firm, Ferguson worked primarily on real estate-related civil litigation and aviation-related matters.
He also has litigation experience, serving as associate attorney at another firm and as a Rule 9 attorney for the San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and additional experience in employment discrimination and workers’ compensation.
Ferguson received his law degree from the University of Washington and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University.
