GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. — Grays Harbor Community Hospital has issued furloughs in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesperson for the hospital said 18% of the staff has been affected so far.

Rural hospitals across the country are facing the same cuts in part because many didn’t qualify for the government’s Paycheck Protection Program.
Grays Harbor had too many employees to qualify.
However, relief may be on the way as the president said he would be willing to add assistance for hospitals in the next round of the PPP program.
