SEATTLE — Recently-inducted baseball Hall-of-Famer Ichrio Suzuki will throw the first ceremonial pitch for the Seattle Mariners Opening Day against the Oakland Athletics.

Suzuki was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame at the end of January. In his first year on the ballot, he earned 99.7% of votes, tied for the second-highest voting percentage in history and first among position players.

He became the first Japanese player to be voted in the Hall of Fame.

Suzuki spent 12 years of his Major League Baseball career with the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners welcome the Athletics to T-Mobile Park in 2025 for the first series of the season from March 27-30. Fittingly, Suzuki made his MLB debut with Seattle against the Athletics on April 2, 2001, and played in his final career game with Seattle against the Athletics on March 21, 2019.

Ichiro threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day at T-Mobile Park in 2022, caught by Mariners All-Star outfielder Julio Rodríguez before he made his home debut.

Opening Day tickets at T-Mobile Park are available now and can be purchased here. Full details of all Opening Day festivities will be announced at a later date.

The Mariners previously announced that Ichiro Hall of Fame Weekend is set to take place at T-Mobile Park this summer, which includes Ichiro Hall of Fame Funko POP! 3-day giveaway from Aug.5 to Aug.7, Ichiro Jersey Night (Aug. 8), Ichiro Number 51 Retirement Ceremony Night (Aug. 9) and Ichiro Hall of Fame Plaque Day (Aug. 10).
