SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Update: The missing emu from AJ’s Acre, named Sarah, has been found. The bird was found in a backyard Saturday in a North Sound neighborhood.
The bird was reportedly yard hopping on a street where there were sightings in a Mukilteo neighborhood.
Original story: The owners of AJ’s Acre in Everett are looking for a missing emu that escaped from their farm near Alexander Road and the Mukilteo Speedway.
The owners said someone cut a portion of fencing Wednesday night, allowing three of their emus to escape.
Two were captured, but one is still missing. The missing emu was seen walking around in a Mukilteo neighborhood.
Animal control has been notified.
Anyone who sees the bird is warned not to approach or attempt to catch it and should give animal control a call.
