Seattle restaurant back open after fixing COVID-19 violations

Blue Nile restaurant

SEATTLE — A Seattle restaurant that was closed Friday by King County health officials due to COVID-19 violations is back open after fixing its issues.

The Blue Nile Restaurant, located at 7821 Rainier Avenue South, was closed for providing indoor dining and bar service and because customers were not following the face-covering mandate.

On Nov. 15, Gov. Jay Inslee imposed new restrictions and later extended the restrictions, including bans on indoor dining, to control the spread of COVID-19. However, outdoor dining and to-go service were permitted, limiting table size for outdoor dining to five people.

The governor recently said, “At the moment, we have to face the reality, and the reality is that we are suffering a very dire situation with the pandemic.”

According to health officials, the restaurant will be allowed to reopen once a food inspector confirmed that it had come into compliance with the restrictions.
