SEATTLE — Redmond is home to the best high school in Washington state, according to the latest rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.
Nearly 24,000 U.S. public high schools were reviewed by the publication and 347 Washington schools made it onto its list of the country’s top-performing public high schools.
Each school was evaluated in areas including college readiness, state assessment proficiency and graduation rates.
Here are its rankings for the top 10 high schools in the Seattle area in 2022:
1. Tesla STEM High School
Tesla STEM High School, located in Redmond, ranked first among Washington public high schools and first among the 10 high schools in the Lake Washington School District.
The school also ranked #12 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
2. International School
International School, located in Bellevue, ranked second among Washington public high schools and first among the eight high schools in the Bellevue School District.
The school also ranked #59 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
3. Raisbeck Aviation High School
Raisbeck Aviation High School, located in Tukwila, ranked third among Washington public high schools and first among the 12 high schools in the Highline School District.
The school also ranked #213 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
4. Newport Senior High School
Newport Senior High School, located in Bellevue, ranked fourth among Washington public high schools and second among the eight high schools in the Bellevue School District.
The school also ranked #235 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
5. Bellevue High School
Bellevue High School ranked fifth among Washington public high schools and third among the eight high schools in the Bellevue School District.
The school also ranked #291 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.

6. Mercer Island High School
Mercer Island High School ranked sixth among Washington public high schools. It is the only high school in the Mercer Island School District.
The school also ranked #368 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
7. Interlake Senior High School
Interlake Senior High School, located in Bellevue, ranked seventh among Washington public high schools and fourth among the eight high schools in the Bellevue School District.
The school also ranked #457 in the U.S. News national rankings of nearly 18,000 public high schools.
8. General William H. Harrison Preparatory School
General William H. Harrison Preparatory School, located in Lakewood, ranked eighth among Washington public high schools and first among the nine high schools in the Clover Park School District.
9. Issaquah High School
Issaquah High School ranked 11th among Washington public high schools and first among the six high schools in the Issaquah School District.
10. Garfield High School
Garfield High School, located in Seattle, ranked 12th among Washington public high schools and first among the 21 high schools in the Seattle Public Schools.
