CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. — A 29-year-old Port Angeles man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of drug possession with intent to distribute, making false statements and an outstanding warrant.
Deputies with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said Arik Mason was pulled over around 8 p.m. for a seat belt violation.
Officials said Mason initially gave a fake name to deputies but it was later discovered that he had an outstanding arrest warrant.
"Deputies established there was probable cause that there were controlled substances within the vehicle and a search warrant was granted," a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office wrote in a news release.
In their search of Mason’s vehicle, deputies said they found 96.9 grams of heroin, 2.8 grams of cocaine, 15.4 grams of methamphetamine, scales, drug paraphernalia, drug distribution supplies and $1,367.
Officials said the estimated street value of the drugs is over $11,000.
Mason’s vehicle was seized and he was booked into the Clallam County Jail.
