Emergency dispatchers received a call about a two-car crash involving a Camaro and a black SUV in the 14400 block of Meadow Road in Lynnwood at 4:45 a.m.
Witnesses said that the suspect vehicle, the black SUV, intentionally backed into the Camaro. The driver of the SUV then exited the vehicle and an argument began between the two drivers.
Witnesses said the SUV driver stabbed the driver of the Camaro, a 30-year old man, and struck the Camaro with a hatchet, according to Kristin Banfield with the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, which investigates officer-involved shootings. There was also a woman in the victim's vehicle.
The suspect, who Banfield said knew the victim, then fled in the SUV.
“It was not road rage,” Bainfield said. “This appears to be a case of potential domestic violence.”

As Snohomish County deputies responded, they saw an SUV with front-end damage that matched the description of the suspect's SUV fleeing the scene. When they tried to stop the driver at 128th Street Southeast in Everett, the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began, with the suspect topping speeds of 100 mph, Banfield said.
The chase went from southbound I-5 in Everett to SR 520 in Redmond. The suspect then exited at Avondale Road then headed back north on Woodinville-Duvall Road.
The chase ended in Woodinville at Northeast 195th Street and 136th Avenue Northeast, just south of Woodinville High School, when a deputy used a PIT maneuver on the SUV.
KIRO 7 News video showed a police cruiser in a ditch. The suspect's SUV appeared to have hit a curb around the corner.
Banfield said that at 5:15 a.m., deputies approached the suspect's SUV and three deputies fired shots at the driver, hitting him. The 42-year-old man, the only one in the SUV, was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition is not known.
KIRO7’s Deedee Sun counted at least 20 bullet holes on the driver’s side, and Chopper 7 showed more holes on the windshield and passenger side windows.
No officers were hurt. The driver who was stabbed by the suspect in Lynnwood was treated at the scene and released. His passenger was taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical condition, Banfield said.
Banfield said four Snohomish County deputies were involved in the chase. Three of them fired at the suspect and are on administrative leave, as per protocol. It’s not yet known if the suspect had a firearm, or what exactly led up to the deputies opening fire.
Banfield described the scene as being very large and complicated and said it would take time to piece together exactly what happened.
Northeast 195th Street remains closed at 136th Avenue Northeast around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
