UPDATE: The Hood Canal Bridge has reopened to traffic.
Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that closed both directions of the Hood Canal Bridge Thursday evening.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. Thursday and didn't reopen until early Friday morning.
Troopers said five passenger vehicles and an unloaded flatbed commercial vehicle, with a total of seven people, were involved.
Among those involved in the crash, one was killed, one was critically injured, one had serious injuries and one had minor injuries.
The state Department of Transportation was on scene to asses the bridge and said there was no structural damage to the bridge. The only damage was to safety cables.
