SEATTLE, Wash. — Flight Attendants at Horizon Air have filed for federal mediation for their contract negotiations with the company, according to a news release from the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA).

“Management has so far failed to offer meaningful pay increases for all flight attendants in the workgroup,” a news release sent out Tuesday reads.

According to the release, Horizon flight attendants are pushing for the same pay as flight attendants at Horizon’s parent company, Alaska Airlines.

“Flight Attendants at Horizon Air and in the regional airlines deserve fair compensation,” said Horizon AFA President Lisa Davis-Warren in the news release. “The company needs to recognize the contributions we have made to its continued growth. We are hopeful that with the help of a federal mediator, we will work with urgency to get the pay, benefits, and scheduling provisions we have earned.”

The National Mediation Board will provide a federal mediator and schedule sessions.

The company has not commented on the negotiations.
