NORTH BEND, Wash. — US 2 remains closed for icy conditions, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The closure is from milepost 42 near Grotto over Stevens Pass to milepost 99 at Leavenworth.
The highway was closed all day Sunday for freezing rain and icy conditions and remains closed on Monday.
There is no detour and no estimated time for reopening.
Crews are working to clear the road and break up ice as well as clean up more than a dozen slides in Tumwater Canyon.
⛔️US 2 Stevens Pass will remain closed today. The road is a sheet of ice. The crew member who sent pics says a car cannot drive it, they used a sno cat to go in to evaluate. Please do not attempt to go around closure points. @wspd6pio pic.twitter.com/otVohRqOEK
