Ichiro Suzuki plans to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Mariners’ opening day on Thursday, March 26.
Tickets for the 1:10 p.m. game at T-Mobile Park start at $28 before fees through Ticketmaster.
Suzuki was unlike anything the majors had seen when he left Japan for Seattle, and he’s become one of the most important figures in baseball history — and not just because of his 3,089 hits, 10 Gold Gloves, numerous All-Star Games, single-season hit record and MVP award.
The 10-time All-Star had a .311 average in the majors. He is expected to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025, his first year of eligibility.
