The worst one happened near the High Point Exit, sending one person to the hospital with possible spinal cord injuries.
Four cars were involved in all. One driver said he tried to slow down, but it was too late and he slid off into the median.
Trooper Rick Johnson with the Washington State Patrol says drivers have to take extra precautions as the weather gets colder.
“The Department of Transportation does a great job of treating the roads, but there are still spots that are going to be slick,” says Johnson. “We just want people to drive for the conditions and paying attention to the roadways.”
Troopers warn that overpasses and bridges tend to be dangerous spots because air flows underneath them, causing the surfaces to freeze faster.
