A United States Coast Guard (USCG) aircrew from Port Angeles rescued a 35-year-old man who was injured after falling down a hill in the Hoh Valley area near Olympic National Park on Wednesday, according to the USCG.
Clallam County requested the Coast Guard aircrew, as partner agencies on the scene could not recover the man without hoist capabilities.
A USCG Dolphin helicopter crew successfully hoisted the injured man from the area and landed him on a nearby logging road.
The man was quickly transferred to a LifeFlight helicopter, which flew him to Harborview Medical Center.
