2 injured in shooting in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood

SEATTLE — Two people were injured in a shooting Friday evening in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood, Seattle police said.

Officers were called to the 9000 block of Rainier Avenue South after witnesses reported gunfire at 6 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman in a car, each with a gunshot wound, authorities said.

The woman had been shot in the stomach and the man in one of his hands.

Medics with the Seattle Fire Department said a 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were taken to Harborview Medical Center and were stable upon arrival.

Officials did not say what led to the shooting.

No information was released on whether a suspect was taken into custody.

This investigation remains ongoing.
