SILVERDALE, Wash. — Kitsap County detectives have ended their search for a 17-year-old girl who was last seen Monday at Olympic High School in Bremerton.
The family of Hevi Muhaz Tahir became concerned when she failed to return home from school.
Her family found her car, a 2000 Toyota Camry, parked at Silverdale Waterfront Park, 3337 NW Byron Street, in Silverdale.
Kitsap deputies with the marine services unit searched Dyes Inlet and the shoreline via boat while divers from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department searched underwater. An air search of the area was done with a Coast Guard helicopter from Sector Puget Sound.
Detectives said Wednesday that based on the investigation, they believe Tahir entered the water on Monday and evidence indicates no foul play was involved in her disappearance.
No further search efforts are anticipated, but the investigation remains open.
Anyone with information about Tahir’s whereabouts or the circumstances of her disappearance is asked to contact Kitsap County Sheriff's Detective Krista Kleinfelder at 360-337-7117 or Kitsap 911 and reference case report K18-001035.
