Judge orders Lynden restaurant to stop in-person dining

LYNDEN, Wash. — A Whatcom County judge issued a restraining order against a cafe in Lynden that did not close for in-person dining.

It’s the first time a county court has got involved in a coronavirus-related business battle.

The Department of Labor and Industries told KIRO 7 that Fairway Cafe was deliberately staying open for in-person dining, and some employees were not wearing masks.

After receiving the order, the restaurant will only offer to-go orders.

The owner said she was brainstorming ways to keep all of her workers on the job.
