The city of Kent will begin issuing warning tickets Monday at its three new red light cameras installed at high-collision intersections.
Drivers cited today will just get warnings in the mail, but in August, people will start receiving $136 tickets.
The city reviewed collision data over the last five years to select the intersections and divided its response into two stages. The cameras that are part of phase one began today.
Drivers will receive a $136 ticket and the violation counts as a civil penalty.
The phase one cameras are located at:
- Central Avenue North and East Smith Street
- Central Avenue North and East James Street
- Kent Des Moines Road and Pacific Highway South
