Kent family loses home, dog in fire

KENT, Wash. — A Kent family of four is without a place to call home after their house caught on fire.

They also lost their dog, who was inside at the time.

It happened Thursday afternoon on 64th Avenue South.

Puget Sound Fire says flames spread to nearby homes, damaging two others. They believe it spread quickly because of how close the homes are placed together.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is helping the family who was displaced find a place to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
