KENT, Wash. — Kent police officers arrested a 36-year-old man Friday morning for allegedly shooting multiple times at someone.
It happened just after 2:15 a.m. on Pacific Highway South.
Someone called 911 after hearing gunshots, and when officers arrived, they pinpointed the sounds to be coming from the Highline Apartment Complex.
Officers say the 36-year-old was shooting at another man, who was in his 20s.
The man was not hurt.
“I am grateful that community members stepped up and provided the officers the information they needed to safely respond and intervene in what could have a tragic loss of life. I am also incredibly proud of the courage and professionalism of our officers, who brought this incident to a safe resolution,” said Chief Rafael Padilla in a post online.
The suspect was booked into the Regional Justice Center, charged with Assault 1 Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
A motive has not been determined.
