MUKILTEO, Wash. — An 11-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after firefighters said they were injured in a rope swing accident.
Fire officials said they were swinging on a rope swing around 10:50 in the 2600 block of Mukilteo Speedway, located just south of Olympic Middle School, when the rope broke.
Officials said that when it broke the kids were dropped into a tree in a nearby ravine. When medics arrived, they said both kids were out of the tree.
The boy appeared to have a back injury and the girl appeared to have a leg injury, officials said.
Both kids were taken to Harborview “due to the traumatic nature of their injuries,” officials said.
