NORTH BEND, Wash. — King County Executive Dow Constantine announced a new effort Wednesday to promote the regional film industry while serving pie and coffee at Twede's Cafe, famously featured in the TV show "Twin Peaks."
The announcement included Constantine's new creative economy initiative and budget requests to promote the industry.

Several famous movies have been filmed in the King County area, and Constantine is trying to continue this tradition. "Tugboat Annie" was the first feature film made in and about Seattle, according to an article pn HistoryLink. The article states that Seattle has been featured in more than 100 motion pictures.
Perhaps most famously, the 1999 romantic comedy "10 Things I Hate About You" was filmed in and around Seattle, including a house in Tacoma, Stadium High School and Gas Works Park.
Several scenes in the 1993 drama "Sleepless in Seattle" were filmed in the city, including a gate at SeaTac Airport where Tom Hanks' character first spots Meg Ryan's character. The gate closed earlier this year as part of a $658 million renovation project.
