SEATTLE — The Seattle Kraken will head back to Denver for a massive Game 7 with their season on the line Sunday, as the team fell 4-1 to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 6 of their first-round series Friday night. The series is now all even at three games apiece.

Vince Dunn put the Kraken up early with a goal just over four minutes into the first period.

Second before the end of the period, the Avalanche’s Mikko Rantanen tied the game on a wrist shot goal assisted by Evan Rodrigues and Devon Toews.

Seven minutes into the second period, the Avalanche took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Erik Johnson. A goal by Artturi Lehkonen nearly 10 minutes later extended the Avalanche’s lead to 3-1.

Lehkonen scored an empty net goal with 12 seconds to go in the game to make it 4-1 Avalanche.

The winner of Sunday’s Game 7 will face the Dallas Stars in the second round after their Game 6 series-clinching victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
