MASON COUNTY, Wash. — On Friday night, the North Mason Regional Fire Authority answered calls about a landslide on Northshore Road west of Tahuya close to the Summertide Resort and Marina.
Mason County PUD, the Mason County Road Commission and crews from the North Mason Regional Fire Authority arrived at the scene to monitor and work to reopen the road.
According to Mason PUD, customers along Tahuya lost power as a result of the slide.
Mason County Regional Fire Authority crews said that debris continued to slide onto the road throughout the night forcing them to keep the road closed.
Heavy equipment was brought in to begin clearing the road on Saturday morning.
Around 2:20 p.m., Mason County PUD restored power to all the customers along North Shore Road.
There is currently no estimate on when the road will be fully reopened.
