LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Four people were taken to hospitals after a four-car crash on northbound I-5 north of Mountlake Terrace and south of Lynnwood.
The crash happened about 3:20 a.m. between 44th Avenue West and 220th Street Southwest.

Trooper Rocky Oliphant said the causing driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Two people were taken to Swedish Hospital and another person went to Providence Hospital.
Four lanes were closed for more than 5 hours. All lanes reopened around 8:45 a.m.
Trooper Rocky Oliphant said a blue car rear-ended a truck, lost control, went off the road to the left and was hit by another vehicle. The blue car hit the guardrail, went back into the lanes of traffic and was struck by another vehicle.
The guardrail was damaged and crash debris was scattered across the road.
