LANGLEY, Wash. — E. coli bacteria was detected in the City of Langley water system during routine testing on Wednesday, city officials announced.
Langley is located on Whidbey Island in Island County.
Officials are advising residents to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
E. coli can make you sick and is a particular concern for people with compromised immune systems.
Boiling kills E. coli bacteria and other organisms in the water.
