A large brush fire burned Tuesday afternoon along Interstate 5 in Kent, just south of State Route 516 as the commute started to ramp up for the evening.
Three northbound lanes were blocked as crews worked to extinguish the flames. The State Department of Transportation advised drivers to find alternate routes are prepare for long delays.
As of 5 p.m., the backup hit 8 miles.
