SEATTLE, Wash. — Memorial services for Shawn Yim will be held on Friday.
Yim, a King County Metro bus driver, was stabbed to death while on the job on December 18.
Seattle police say a passenger named Richard Sitzlak is to blame.
On Friday at 10 a.m. a bus procession will make its way through downtown.
Below is the route that will be taken:
- King County Metro Atlantic & Central Bases on 1500 6th Avenue South
- Left turn onto South Royal Brougham Way
- Right turn onto 4th Avenue South
- Continued onto 4th Avenue
- Continued onto 4th Avenue North
- Right turn onto Broad Street
- Left turn onto 5th Avenue North
- Right turn onto Mercer Street
- Right turn onto 6th Avenue North
- Left turn to merge onto southbound State Route 99
- Exit left toward South Royal Brougham Way
- Left turn onto South Royal Brougham Way
- Left turn onto Occidental Avenue South
- Right turn onto South King Street
- Right turn onto Stadium Place South, Arrived
All able metro drivers are encouraged to attend. Metro says there will be 70 buses alone participating as well as fire, EMTs, and historical coaches.
Following the procession, there will be a memorial— which is open to the public – at the event center.
The doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the memorial will start at 11:00 a.m.
There will be free parking in the Lumen Field Parking Garage.
