SEATTLE — Memorial services for Shawn Yim will be held on Friday.

Yim, a King County Metro bus driver, was stabbed to death while on the job on December 18.

Seattle police say a passenger named Richard Sitzlak is to blame.

On Friday at 10 a.m. a bus procession will make its way through downtown.

All able metro drivers are encouraged to attend.

Metro says there will be 70 buses alone participating as well as fire, EMTs, and historical coaches.

Following the procession, there will be a memorial – which is open to the public – at Lumen Field Event Center (also known as WAMU Theater).

The doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the memorial will start at 11:00 a.m., with an end time of 1 p.m.

There will be free parking in the Lumen Field Parking Garage.

King County Metro warned bus riders to expect a high number of cancellations on Friday – and to either seek out more frequent routes or make alternate travel plans.

Road traffic is also expected to be disrupted as the procession makes its way to the event center.
