Man found dead in crashed car after report of shooting in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Officers dispatched to a report of a shooting in Federal Way arrived to find a wounded man in a car.

Just after 1 a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the Avana Star Lake Apartments at 2211 South Star Lake Road.

When officers arrived, they discovered a car that had crashed into several other vehicles in the parking lot.

Inside, they found a man in his 20s or 30s with critical injuries. Officers and medics tried to save his life but he died, according to Federal Way Police spokesperson Cary Murphy.

Detectives are working to find witnesses and potential suspects.

Video from the scene showed crime scene tape zig-zagging across the lot, and police barriers concealing the rear-ends of two parked cars.
