Three shot, injured in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood Monday evening

SEATTLE — Three people were shot and injured following a shooting in downtown Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood Monday evening.

Around 5:15 p.m. Monday, officers with the Seattle Police Department responded to 2nd Avenue and Blanchard Street regarding reports of one person injured as the result of a shooting. Police said dispatch received multiple reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue and was later updated to 200 block and Lenora Street.

When officers arrived, they found three victims with gunshot wounds.

Police said they found a 31-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the ankle and a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the knee. Both victims received first-aid at the scene and were taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

The third victim, a 25-year-old man was found in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue. He had a gunshot wound to the chest and hand. Police provided first-aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived. The man was also taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Seattle Fire Department crews responded to the scene and confirmed later that one 25-year-old man had been seriously injured and was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in the ICU in critical condition as of Monday night.

The department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to the scene and is leading the investigation.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting are under investigation. No suspect is in custody.
