SEATTLE — Link light rail service was shut down between the Rainier Beach and Tukwila International Boulevard stations for several hours on Sunday after a car struck a utility pole near the light-rail line Saturday night.
Link Shuttle buses replaced the 1 Line between the stations from about 8 a.m. until just before 3 p.m. Sunday.
Crews worked with Seattle City Light to replace the damaged utility pole for about three hours on Sunday afternoon.
Commuters traveling south of Rainier Beach, including those traveling to the airport, were advised to allow extra time for their travel plans until normal light rail service resumed.
