BELLEVUE, Wash. — An employee at a Swire Coca-Cola facility in Bellevue has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the company.
According to Carl Foster, the company’s director of communications, the employee is currently receiving the appropriate treatment from their health care provider and is in stable condition.
The company said it could not provide information on when the employee tested positive but said the person stayed home as soon as he or she felt sick, which was four days before their results came back.
“Even before the test result was confirmed, we acted swiftly to contain any potential spread of the virus and to assist those who had been in contact with the employee,” Swire’s communications director said.
Swire Coca-Cola is a bottler for Coca-Cola and other Coke products in 13 western states, including most of Washington.
The company also stated:
“We have put stringent processes in place to protect our employees and further limit the spread of the virus. This includes additional cleaning and sanitization routines, monitoring and screening associates and visitors, limiting large meetings and travel, and providing 80 hours of extra paid time off for employees who are sick, need to quarantine, or have another need for time off due to COVID-19.”
