SEATTLE — Mail delivery to an entire South Seattle zip code is set to resume Tuesday after being halted due to mail theft, the United States Postal Service said Monday.
Thieves had gotten ahold of a master key that worked all over zip code 98118.
According to USPS, around 900 residents were affected. Residents who use cluster mailboxes at apartments and townhomes were most heavily impacted.
“Improvements to the affected equipment are being made throughout the next two days, and mail is expected to be delivered to the affected residents tomorrow,” USPS said Monday. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of the community as we work to preserve the safety and sanctity of the mail.”
