SEATTLE — The main entrance at the King County Courthouse will reopen Monday morning after being shut down for public safety concerns.
The Third Avenue Entrance was closed in early December after a series of assaults outside the entrance.

The decision to reopen the entrance comes after county council members approved an emergency $600,000 for extra security outside the entrance.

The initial emergency amendment had the entrance closed until Jan. 1, 2020.

In late November, KIRO 7 reported on a man suspected of randomly attacking an attorney and bus driver outside the King County Courthouse.

In July 2018, three people were assaulted outside the courthouse on the same day.
