Fight in grocery store parking lot ends with multiple-car crash in South Hill

SOUTH HILL, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says a fight in a grocery store parking lot ended in a multiple car crash in South Hill.

It happened early afternoon Friday.

According to Washington State Patrol, the fight happened at the Safeway. Troopers say a person who was involved sped out of the parking lot, hitting to other cars on State Route 161. The causing driver was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. Despite initial reports, troopers say no one else was hurt.

Meridian Avenue was shut down from 132nd Street East to 128th Street, but the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says it has since reopened.
