POULSBO, Wash. — A Poulsbo man suspected of attacking his wife led Kitsap County deputies and Poulsbo officers on a drunken chase early Tuesday that ended with his arrest, according to authorities.
Deputies were called to the 26000 block of Weaver Ave NW, on the western outskirts of Poulsbo, around 2 a.m for a report that a 29-year-old man had attacked his wife and then fled in a 4x4 Chevrolet truck.
Though deputies intercepted the truck near the home, police said the man refused to pull over.
Deputies who got ahead of the suspect were able to put out spike strips and flattened three of the truck’s tires. The man then got out of his truck near Clear Creek Elementary and ran into a wooded area.
With the help of a K-9 team, the man was tracked down and taken into custody about a quarter-mile north of where he abandoned his truck.
He was later booked into the Kitsap County Jail on charges of attempting to elude a police vehicle, domestic violence assault and DUI.
