KENT, Wash. — Kent police found a man dead after responding to a report of a shooting early Thursday on Kent's East Hill.
KIRO 7 Reporter Patranya Bhoosuwan is live at the scene working to find out what led up to the gunfire. She’s live on air now until 7 a.m.
Officers were called to the Summerwalk Villa Apartments in the 22400 block of Benson Road Southeast at 1:56 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a 25-year-old Kent man who was unresponsive after being shot.
Though CPR was started, the man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say preliminary information indicates that there was an argument between the victim and another person, who fled before police arrived.
Officers said so far, there is not much suspect information and the relationship between the shooter and the victim is not yet known, though information from witnesses indicates the shooting was not random.
Investigators are still interviewing potential witnesses, processing the crime scene, and following up on leads.
