THURSTON COUNTY — A man in his 40s is recovering from minor leg injuries after getting caught up in a log jam while floating down a river on an air mattress.
Lacey fire officials said the man was swept under the water for a short time. The man was floating alone down a river near Riverbend Campground in Thurston County.
When fire units arrived, the man was on shore but needed units to help get him to the correct side of the shore.
Lacey officials said the incident is a good reminder to always wear your life jacket.
Subject back to shore. Minor injuries, no transport needed. Reminder: wear your life jacket; don't go alone; never underestimate the river.
