COVINGTON, Wash. — One person has died in a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon in Covington, Puget Sound Fire reported.
The fire broke out at a home in the 26200 block of 180th Avenue Southeast.
People passing by called 911 and reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the home just after 3:15 p.m., fire officials said. There was also a report that a person might have been inside.
Officials said, when firefighters arrived, they found a man inside the home and pulled him out; however, they were unable to save the victim.
No other details about the victim have been released and no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
