KENT, Wash. — The Kent Police Department says a man was hit and killed by a train while crossing the tracks.
It happened just before 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday at the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks at East Titus Street.
Train crew members told officers the 38-year-old was crossing from east to west and didn’t see the train coming.
The crew confirmed that the train arms were functioning and in the down position to stop crossing traffic. They also told police the train’s whistle and crossing warning signals were activated and working properly.
Officers contacted local businesses nearby to request any video they may have on their surveillance cameras to review what happened.
